Kindergarten students are learning all about MATTER. Today we talked about "WHAT IS MATTER?" Students learned that matter is everything, anything that has mass and takes up space. We had baggies of ice (solid), melted it in our hands (liquid), then we added some fizzy tablets to the water and watched the bags expand with gas. Students also made art with matter. They were given frozen ice cubes of paint (solid), they melted into paint (liquid) and the paint dries as the water evaporates into the air (gas). We had so much (messy) fun exploring matter!
