I am so excited to introduce a brand new activity to 5th grade students. Over the past month we have been collecting battery powered toothbrushes. These toothbrushes were torn apart and will become the base of "Bots" the students are designing and building. We have been talking about electricity in Science. The students also learned all about how batteries work (electricity in chemical form) Students are going to use their knowledge of electric circuits to put together a "Bot" that they designed. This is an exciting STEM activity for the kids to take part in. I showed them a couple of basic ideas. We brainstormed additional ideas. Almost all materials they need will be supplied, but some of them have items they want to bring in from home. We will be building the "Bots" on March 6th and 8th. They will bring their creations home to share. Can't wait to see what they build.
